/summary
The AFC Champions League Final second leg saw Al Ain face Yokohama F. Marinos in a thrilling showdown at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE. As AFC’s premier club competition, the event was a major milestone in Asian football. Partnering with Live Engine, we provided sports presentation services to enhance the in-stadium experience. This was our first project in the UAE since the 2022 Club World Cup.

We delivered sports presentation technology, including a flyaway production kit, wireless cameras, sound, comms, and live graphics. Our international and local crew included a Technical Director, Camera Operators, a Sound Engineer, a Graphics Operator, and Production Management. Additionally, we managed fibre transport and cabling to take feeds from the OB, ensuring a seamless broadcast and in-stadium experience.

Al Ain’s dominant performance on the pitch was matched by the electric atmosphere in the stands, with Arab football fans creating an unforgettable scene. We played a key role in delivering a spectacular halftime performance featuring DJ Jasmine, elevating the overall event experience. Being part of such a monumental occasion, surrounded by passionate supporters, made this project particularly special.
/challenges
he stadium team was highly protective of their technology, given the significance of the final, requiring us to work closely with them to build trust and ensure a flawless execution. Limited space due to club sales made working conditions tight, demanding adaptability from our team. Additionally, operating in the intense UAE summer heat meant hydration and managing working conditions were critical to maintaining performance.
/learnings
In the Middle East, having spare equipment is essential to ensure smooth operations. Adapting to "habibi time" when working with local suppliers is part of the process, requiring patience and flexibility. Most importantly, understanding and collaborating with the stadium team is key to delivering a successful show.
